Six Years of Red, One Session to Blonde: Inside a Colour Correction

One of our recent clients walked in with a big goal: after six years of colouring her hair red, she was ready to go blonde. Normally, a transformation like that means two or three separate appointments spread out over months. This time, we were able to get her there in a single visit, and it started with a simple test.

Three days before her appointment, we did a strand test: lifting and assessing one small section of hair so we could see exactly how it would behave before committing to anything. It lifted beautifully, and that gave us the confidence to plan a full, single-session colour correction rather than breaking the process up over multiple visits.

On the day, placing the foils alone took about three and a half hours, and from start to finish she was with us for around seven to eight hours. That is the nature of colour correction: when you are lifting years of red pigment out of the hair safely, time and patience matter more than anything else.
